Big D and surrounding areas

This past weekend, we made the drive up I-45 to visit with some family and friends. It was a whirlwind trip - it never seems we have enough time to see everyone we'd like - but we hope to get back soon!!

1/2 way there - diaper change & a little rest for the bootie.

1st Stop - Wills Point (Friday afternoon)
Mimama was out of town, but we got to visit with Nana & Grandaddy.
2nd Stop - Dallas (Friday p.m.)
We met Abby & Pablo for dinner, then back to Abby's house for a sleepover. No pix of Avery w/ the lovely couple:(

3rd Stop - Dallas Arboretum & White Rock Lake (Saturday a.m.)
We joined the Eckenrodes bright & early for the Tour de Fleurs 10K. Since we didn't have much of an option, Meg pushed her 2 girls & I pushed Avery in the jogging strollers. I was quite nervous, but I am happy to report that we made it all the way to the Finish Line!

Mini-stop: After the run, we went to Snuffers for some cheese fries (& some other yummy greasy stuff!) with Meg, her girls, and Su & one of her twin boys, Luke. Then we stopped at Des' house for a quick hello to her & Travis and hug around her neck!

4th Stop - Hallie's 2nd birthday TU-TU party! (Saturday p.m.) When we arrived, we walked into "Hallie's Tu-Tu School of Dance". Girls only, and they all wore tu-tus. This was one amazing party - Hallie's mommy, Kristen, thought of every last detail.....if you ever need a party planner....I'm telling you.... (pictures don't do it justice)

Avery in awe of the beautiful birthday princess.

Hallie's daddy even made a pink ballet bar for the girls to warm up.

Off we go again....with my pooped-out ballerina.
5th and FINAL Stop - Team Rissmiller's casa
We arrived Saturday evening, just in time for Avery & Cole to get in some playtime before crib time. Sunday morning, we took a stroll to the park before the Rissmillers headed off to church and Avery & I headed home. Thanks for the great hospitality Cole & fam!

Upon arriving home, we discovered that Daddy had made his "Hobby of the Month" purchase - the XBox Rockband game & guitar. I (nat) was at first not overly pleased, but I must admit I had a good time gettin' my guitar groove on....even my mom joined in on the fun.
Post Weekend - the fun continues!
Monday afternoon - A birthday visit from Momma Sarah & Katie. They brought Avery a super birthday outfit and Katie showed her the proper way to accessorize with her shades.
Tuesday evening - The Freys joined us for dinner to celebrate Ashley's upcoming b-day. When we sang "Happy Birthday....", Halle cheerfully sang "....to Halle!" I guess she's wondering when she'll get to open her presents:)

I think my favorite picture ever posted on the internet will forever be your mom playing the guitar. Priceless!
