We went to Dallas this weekend to visit Avery's great-Grandaddy (my dad's dad) who had surgery at Baylor. The surgery - removal of a lump in his lung - was a success & Grandaddy is on the road to recovery. Yea!!

Jana & her husband Damond (sp?) are my grandparent's next door neighbors and have been a God-send to them. They treat them like family and go well out of their way to help in times of need. Jana drove Nana & Grandaddy to the hospital from an hour outside of town (@ 4 in the morning!!) and stayed with us in the waiting room nearly all day before returning home. Jana also checks out our blog frequently so that she can give updates and show pix to my grandparents. Truly selfless and wonderful examples of treating our neighbors as ourselves. 
Avery was such a great trooper that day. 4-hour drive to Dallas, then all day in the waiting room....she was super!
...she even took a quick nap!
We met up with my mom's brothers/family, Abby & Pablo for dinner @ Ozona's that night. 
Avery has decided that Pablo is pretty great.
Aunt Bonnie made us an amazing pancake breakfast the next morning & we decided that it was time for Avery's pancake debut. She made a HUGE mess (which I know I need to get used to) and ate every bit of it.

Isn't it great when they will nap anywhere? Glad your grandad is doing well!
